 COMPILED BY SARAH BENZULY

Promoted as a safer headphone, Ultrasone's S-Logic line aims the sound at the pinnae instead of directly down the ear canal, which is said to offer improved imaging and a 3 to 4dB SPL decrease, while delivering the same perceived volume. Going a step further, the company's patented shielding technology reduces the magnetic emissions of its products to less than 90 nanoTeslas (nT). In a recent test, Ultrasone reported measurements of 60 competing headphones averaging around 1,000 nT — some four times the max emissions recommended for computer monitors set by European standards organization TCO.
