Acclaimed remote recording engineer David Hewitt will join an elite group of individuals as he is inducted into the TEC Hall of Fame at the 22nd Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards, to be held Saturday, October 7, 2006, at the Hilton San Francisco. For a complete list of this year's nominees, go to page 56.

In 1978, Hewitt designed and built the state-of-the-art “Black Truck,” which became the industry standard for excellence. One year later, he founded Remote Recording Services, providing consulting and rentals. Now in his fourth decade of engineering live broadcasts, records, and audio for film and video, Hewitt has been part of many great live music moments. A few of his favorites include Neil Young's Rust Never Sleeps, Modern Jazz Quartet's Farewell Concert, Live Aid, the Rolling Stones' Still Life and Lets Spend the Night Together, the Three Tenors' live broadcast from Giants Stadium (East Rutherford, N.J.) and Pink Floyd's The Delicate Sound of Thunder.

Hewitt has won eight TEC Awards, as well as Grammy, Emmy and Cinema Audio Society Awards for his work during the years. Hewitt is the chief engineer and designer of the “Silver Studio.”
