Trident Audio introduced the LS101 Near-Field Monitor Speaker, a high-quality monitor featuring two 5-inch low to mid drivers and one 1-inch dome tweeter. The design features a magnetic screen built into the cabinet to shield speaker magnetism from close-proximity computer monitor screens. The power handling capability of the monitor is 50 watts RMS @ 4 ohms and the dual gold-plated speaker terminals allow for bi-wiring. The frequency response is from 30 to 22k Hz with a very low distortion rating. The cabinets are finished in cherry wood veneer. Measuring 17x12x7 inches and weighing 20 pounds each, the speakers retail at $799 per pair and are available now.
